JUNIOR SCHOOL AND GAWURA MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

St Andrew's Cathedral School

It was lovely to see so many Gawura mums and children at the Mother’s Day High Tea last Friday afternoon.

It was a great way to show our mums around the school and celebrate all that they do for us. A big thank you to the P&F, Mrs Robson, teachers and musicians for making the afternoon so special.

'HELP ME' APP

St Andrew's Cathedral School

'HELP ME' APP

CHILD SAFETY EMERGENCY APP FOR MOBILE PHONES

St Andrew's Cathedral School is pleased to support the introduction of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation 'Help Me' App. This is a great way to not only help keep children safe, but to also assist people of all ages, from 7 to 97, covering all kinds of personal emergency situation!

The 'Help Me' button sounds a warning and allows you to send off an SMS text to two (2) nominated 'safety' phone numbers, as part of your nominated Trusted Safety Network. Included in the text are GPS co-ordinates from where the text was sent, so the sender can be located or a last known place of contact is indicated.

Mobile phone numbers for your ‘safety’ numbers are easily obtained from your Contacts with a simple manual check and then upload of the numbers. These numbers form part of your Trusted Safety Network and can be simply changed at any time by going to the Settings menu item and updating your desired numbers.

This is particularly helpful when people are not in your immediate area, there are shared parental responsibilities or someone could be away on holidays for a period of time.

This App also provides a range of helpful resources and assistance that is designed to educate children and parents on how to keep safe.

School Counsellor
